The Cally Festival, Caledonian Road, 3rd July 2011

I helped to organise this community street festival on Caledonian Road, London, in the summer of 2011. It saw this major through road of London being closed for the first time with over 5000 visitors on the day. The festival is due to return on the 16th September 2012.

We had postcards printed of Caledonian road for people to take home with them as a reminder of the day, but also hopfully being posted, as a way to spread word of the festival, promote the area and its vibrant community. Many of the contributions and elements that helped to make the festival were provided free or in kind by local people and businesses. These postcards were kindly printed by Dodd's on King's Cross Road.

We also asked people to give their feedback on the festival on the back of the postcards which were then displayed for everyone to see in the window of the Cally Festival shop / HQ (previously a disused shop).
